The scope was design and procurement of this new developed unique technology for filtration of coke and tar particles from quench water circuit at an Ethylene Plant (EP).

There has been designed, manufactured, assembled and supplied complete package of special coke tar strainers – implementation into the existing EP. Also has been done modifications of the existing cyclones in order to increase separation efficiency and to avoid their plugging.

Special coke tar strainers installed in a steel structure are main equipment in a complete skid of the package unit.

Coke and tar particles are to be removed from a process stream of Quench Water section of Ethylene plant definitely. The filtration unit removes solid coke particles and liquid tar without any necessity of shut down of the ethylene plant. This system of separation and filtration is unique process, especially with respect to maintain the quench water loop free of coke and tar and with possibility to discharge dry bulk separated coke from the CTRP, with no negative impact to the environment and to health and safety. The process is owned by Intecha.

Installation of the CTRP increases EP efficiency and significantly saves operational costs, increases operational life of the equipment and it also reduces contamination of the environment. Incorporation of this process enables ethylene units to prolong operational cycles between shutdowns.
