The aim of the project was to modify the flare system and the equipment of the flare unit according to the current standards (DEP, API) and to connect to flare header pressure safety valves from AVD unit and partly from NRL, which had been released to the atmosphere previously.

AVD unit was connected to the flare system by a new 600 m long header equipped by a separator of the liquid phase and by pumps. Simultaneously, the existing pressure safety valves were replaced by new ones. Locking system Interlock was added to the valves. Within NRL and CCR unit pressure safety valves and shut-off valves were changed, a new separator was installed, and piping connections to the flare system were modified. The equipment of the flare stack was reconstructed completely. It
included a new water seal, replacement of the existing flare stack and installation of a new molecular seal, a new flare tip and a new ignition system.

Furthermore, complete reconstruction of the 6kV MCC in AVD unit was a part of this project.
